Recycled use has become a hot issue again. Homer Zipper in the TITAS Exhibition in 2020 once again proposes to environmental materials with innovative in the zipper products in the exhibition.
From many years ago, Homer Zipper has always regarded the application and development of environmental materials as an important task, and it is an important development goal with a high proportion in the company's R&D plan. For example, coats maybe use PET fabric with PU coating , Nylon fabric may be adopted and buttons maybe use ABS plastic and zippers maybe make of POM plastic…. Our coats could combine variety of materials. Otherwise, it is very very difficult to separate these material when these clothing at the end of life. You think how many people can accept the high cost and long time. So it will be very important to make our zipper to use the same material to match with our customer’s products.
Therefore, it is very important to use a single material in a zipper. According to our research, PET is universal use in fabric. PET material was selected as our first development direction of a single material. Then, we disassemble the zipper and try to change the material of these component from Metal, Plastic or POM… to PET. It is not easy work. In fact, we need to do a lot experiments and trial-produce processes and tests again and again. Fix the manufacture procedure again and again. It takes many years to overcome questions and accumulate lots of experience. Finally, we succeed to develop the single material PET zipper.
In addition to environmental protection issues, we also developed many functional zippers, such as Luminous zippers, Photochromic zippers, Thermochromic zippers and other color changing series, so that our zippers are not only Made In Taiwan but also environmentally friendly and fun.
