Review of History - Searching for the Rise and Fall of Taiwan’s Traditional Industries Irregular & Abnormal - A Different form of Scenery
Special gifts provided for royal courts were not required in Taiwan’s history, neither was the European and Japanese craftsmanship derived from a millennium of deductive development and luxurious items which the nobility used to boast their wealth. Instead it mainly concerned things that directly impacted daily life and acquiring three proper meals. Boutiques and luxurious items were not present in the development of traditional industries, only vast amounts of contract manufacturing orders.
After 30 years of prosperity, the rise of cheap Chinese labor meant Taiwanese labor could no longer stand up to competition, heavily impacting the textile industry.
Having been part of the industry for over 20 years, we refuse to be part fade into history. We carry on our shoulders, the determination to achieve reform, learning high level sewing technology from European and evolving into “refined handwork”. The goal is to elevate personnel value from “worker” to “craftsman”, terminate malicious exploitation and achieve “industry cultivation”, “Improve payroll”, so that the essence of Taiwanese craftsmanship can be approved and recognized by the world.
In terms of material, strict quality demand means that the selected Taiwanese-made cotton canvas enhances durability and functions. All materials used to make bags are produced in Taiwan through “friendly means”. The manufacture process must be harmless to the human body and the impact on the environment minimized. Our goal is to provide consumers with a trustworthy product of equivalent value.
Starting from the friendliness of the Taiwanese people, we strive to promote “fair trade” and establish prime “production-marketing cycles” in efforts to solve existing social issues, so as to ensure that this enterprise, which is devoted to the development of traditional industries, can achieve sustainable management and receive recognition.
GUANGFUHAO constantly engages in the improvement of craftsmanship in embracing the challenges of Taiwanese craftsmen. We use our own method to express to the public: Sewing technology is a meaningful craft that can only be incubated and developed through time.
