With plastic bottles polluting the oceans and the nature, it is our responsibility to recycle. GAC recycles polyester from used plastic bottles and nylon from industrial waste. On the natural side, cupro fiber, originating in a recycled cotton waste, is a fine example of a natural material with amazing functional properties.

About GAC:

Grandtek Asia Corporation (GAC 2003) is a Taiwanese textile company specialised in knitted fabrics and providing high performance fabrics to customers and partners all over the world.

GAC 2003 was established in 2003, and since, it has become a leading manufacturer of functional high-performance fabrics. From its state of the art production facilities in Taiwan, GAC supplies over 10 of the worlds leading brands, including Head, Endura, Vaude, Hugo Boss, Louis Garneau, SALEWA, Babolat, Swany and others.

GAC 2003 has been at the forefront of sustainability for over a decade. Meeting the environmental and social commitments, it develops eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics by using renewable natural materials and sustainable production.

New Developments:

Eco-friendly fabrics are considered a major trend not just for leisure wear or outdoor, but it is also finding its way towards sportswear, workwear and fashion. With the high attention to sustainability, there comes interest in all things natural.

How does it affect sportswear and its polyester driven garment? One of the major downfalls of polyester include somewhat inferior hand feel, given by its low moisture regain. Simply said, polyester just feels too synthetic and for many, this corresponds with depleted resources and used up Earth.

GACs newest developments focus on basic polyester fabrics, packed with functions and suitable for all sorts of sports and high-level performance, but with a hint of a natural feel either by soft cotton touch or by adding natural fibres to the blends:

·Highly texturized polyester fabrics, which offers not only natural touch but also great stretch, recovery and improved moisture management.

·Blending cupro, amongst other fibres, with polyester fabrics. Adding cupro will make the fabric cooler, improve its moisture regain and thus its hand-feel, and contribute to better drying time.

Introducing Cupro:

Cupro is made from a cotton linter, a mostly unused part of a cotton plant. Cotton linter is the short, downy fibre with high amount of cellulose that enfolds cotton seeds. It cannot be made into yarn directly and thus, its normally wasted. Using the latest chemical processing science and technology, it is transformed into a precious yarn: born by nature, made by humans.

Cupro is much softer and smoother than cotton, offering comfort only matched by silk. It also offers excellent moisture management properties and outstanding temperature regulation, Cupro fabrics keep wearer cool in summer and warm in winter. Topped with industrial waste recycling, 100% biodegradability and responsible production, Cupro is an outstanding alternative to traditional fibres.
